We are weavers of stories, continuators of knowledge, and ancestral traditions. Our struggle has the purpose of creating a visibility platform for our culture, for future generations of our native peoples to continue our arts, preserve our indigenous knowledge and heritage and keep telling our stories.

La Milpa

In collaboration with Artes de mexico en Utah Wasatch Community Gardens, and  Modern Gardener PBS Utan, we are happy to share with you the meaning of "La milpa", and how we are helping younger generation in our community learn about indigenous knowledge and connect with our indigenous roots.
FYI- The "Three Sisters" planting concept does not belong to our Mayan cultures. Our intention is not to appropriate the term. In this video we discuss our connection with la milpa, and we make a small comparison of the two planting systems.
